THE DVD CONTAINS 3 FILMS

Rhodesia Remembered (main feature)
Archive and fascinating personal testimonies recall the civil war fought in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) between1965 and 1980. As part of special forces the Rhodesian Light Infantry was a key weapon in counterinsurgency operations. Adopting a paratroop commando role they carried the fight, by parachute and helicopter, to the very heart of the enemy and soon established a fearsome reputation as bush fighters.

In this vivid Award Winning screen history soldiers, airmen and some of the leading figures of the war tell their story for the first time. These eyewitness accounts, including Lt Colonel Ron Reid Daly, give a powerful insight into the violent events of that brutal conflict which still cast a dark shadow today.

The ‘Troopie'
This film records the Service for the laying up of the Regimental Colours of the Rhodesian Light Infantry and the Rededication of the Trooper Statue, in 2008. A time for tradition, music and reflection.

DVD BONUS - The Nkomo Assignment
An extraordinary pilot film - prepared for television - tells the true story of a plan hatched by Rhodesian Special Forces to assassinate an African terrorist leader. Two soldiers were key to that plan: one was a tough, imaginative commander who pushed the frontiers of Special Forces tactics to the limit, the other a highly decorated undercover agent. The film recalls how they plotted vengeance behind enemy lines. It was secret, it was dangerous, it was the dark side of war.  Features exclusive interviews with the legendary Lt Colonel Ron Reid Daly and Major Mike Borlace
