  • You Don’t Have to Read Music to Begin
  • Learn at Your Own Pace

BAGPIPE TEACHER is a new method - yet based on the ancient and original way -- of learning to play the bagpipe. This Method of instruction is the easy way to learn the Practice Chanter and you will be able to play a simple folk tune after your first lesson.

Each lesson is explained in detail giving you a clear demonstration of the fingering techniques. For example if you follow this easy method you can learn to play Amazing Grace by the end of the program.

The Instructor is top piper Donald Lindsay who will take you through each lesson, explaining each move carefully. There is also a special sequence to teach you how to maintain your reed and chanter. With demonstrations by Gold Medallist Alistair Gillies, this DVD will soon put you on the road to being a piper.

Disc Bonus - In addition to all the lessons this Disc gives you a 25 minute TV documentary called 'American Piper' on how piping has become popular in North America. The film features famous pipers and the voice of Scottish traditional singer Isla St Clair.

    Disc Two:

PIPERS on PARADE - a Collection of Classic Piping Films

Great value DVD of approximately 100 entertaining minutes and consisting of two fascinating television films celebrating the Great Highland Bagpipe - PLUS three exclusive bonus tracks of rare piping footage.

1st Feature Film: Edinburgh Piping Festival (originally released on video as Millennium Pipes). A television film about the day Edinburgh is invaded by 10,000 bagpipers from all over the world. Pipe Bands have come from Australia, Canada, England, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, United States and of course Scotland to march through the city in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. The film reveals the excitment of the occasion and is full of humorous moments. Top Pipe Bands include Scottish Power, Strathclyde Police and the entire contingent from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. (Filmed in Widescreen)

Bonus 1: 20 minutes of extra footage from the Edinburgh Piping festival. A chance to see all those that took part as well as the out-takes.

2nd Feature Film: A Capital Regiment. This TV film is a fascinating insight into British Military pageantry and the presentation of colours to the London Regiment by HRH Prince Andrew, Colonel in Chief of the Royal Irish Regiment. The film startes with the preparations to what is obviously a very special day for the participants and culminates in a spectacular parade. Humour, archive, and great music make this a pleasure to watch. Bands on Parade include The Pipes and Drums of the famous London Scottish Regiment, The London Irish Rifles and the Military Band of the Queen's Division.

Bonus 2: Out takes of the Band and Pipers of the Royal Irish Regiment

Bonus 3: This is the official film festival entry of 'When the Pipers Play' title song that went on to win the a Music Video Award. This version differs slightly from the main film and features Isla St Clair and the Massed Pipers of the Scottish Regiments
